Day 01: London - Milan
On arriving in Italy you are greeted with Benvenuto or ‘Welcome’ in Italian by your Tour Director. Italy is an extraordinary feast of heart-thumping, soul-stirring art, food and landscapes, rivalled by few and coveted by millions. Epicentre of the Roman Empire and birthplace of the Renaissance, it’s here that you’ll stand in the presence of monuments such as Michelangelo’s David and the Sistine Chapel. In fact, Italy has more UNESCO World Heritage cultural sites than any other country on earth. It’s a cultural conundrum as thrilling as it is overwhelming. You’re bound to be excited about what lies ahead. We depart the airport for a brief orientation tour of one of the worlds most renowned fashion capitals, Milan. Later we head to the most romantic city in Italy, Venice – Famous for its architecture and known as the Queen of the Adriatic – fondly called La Serenissima. Venice is built on 180 Islands that are connected by over 400 bridges, with hundreds of canals criss-crossing the town. We take a boat ride to reach Venice Island enjoying the famous scenic views as we head to St Mark’s Square to see the Bridge of Sighs, the Ducale Palace, St. Marks Basilica and the Clock Tower, all part of this beautiful and romantic city.
